Seasons

The Little Legends has seasons in Spring, Summer and Fall.

Uniforms

All new players purchase a Little Legends reversible basketball jersey with pre-designated number and matching shorts.  They should be used for all games for the entire season, and can be used in all subsequent Little Legends seasons without needing to be re-purchased.  Incoming pre-formed teams can opt to wear their own uniforms, subject to league approval prior to the season, and as long as all team members have the same uniform.

Clinics

Clinics will be scheduled generally one per week, at one of the later time slots to allow for as many players to attend as possible.  The clinic will be for a minimum of one hour, and will be run by clinic coaches who are highly skilled basketball players from the "Elite" and "A" divisions of the adult Legends league.

Game Length

Games are scheduled for four 8-minute quarters, which usually keeps the games at no more than one hour in duration.  If tied, a 3-minute overtime will be allowed.

Teams

Participating players can either register as a team, or individually.  When registering individually, players will be assigned to a team with the notion of creating equal strengths of teams.  A draft may be held for individual players not registered as a team, if feasible.  If you desire a particular team or to play with your child's friend, specify that on the registration and every effort will be made to accommodate you.  We strive to have no more than 10 players per team.  Registering as a team, your coach may be asked to play up a division due to generally higher skills.

Team Coaches

Team coaches are volunteer parents of the players, or adult Legends players with significant basketball experience.

Age Limits

Each season may differ.  We are currently focusing on Grades 3 through 12. For summer leagues, the grades will be based on the grade the Little Legend is going into for the next fall.

Playoffs

A single elimination tournament will be held at the end of the season. All teams are in the playoffs regardless of regular season records (except for Summer, where the top two teams make the Finals), but will be seeded based on regular season record. Trophies will be awarded to the winning team in each division.

Referees

Experienced referees will be assigned to all games.  If you have referee experience or would like to learn, and are interested in refereeing, contact us for further information.

Refunds

Refunds (minus administrative fee of 20%) can only be given 2 weeks prior to the start of the season.  This is necessary because of the nature ordering uniforms and/or confirming rosters.

Please note: To keep costs down, Legends does not purchase excess accident medical coverage for injury to participants.  Please make sure your own insurance covers any injury you may have.
